The Central Pennsylvania Chapter of US Lacrosse announces the 2019 Hall of Fame Event Dinner Saturday, January 26, 2019 with keynote speaker, Penn State lacrosse coach Missy Doherty, and Master of Ceremonies, High School Sports Live’s Grace Grill. The public is invited to celebrate and recognize those who contributed to make the game great in Central PA.

The inductees who will be honored are:

Ms. Mary Ann Smeltz, 1975 U.S. Women’s Touring Team

Congratulations to our 2017 Hall of Fame Inaugural Class:

Chris Allen: pioneered the girl’s game in Berks County

David Heisey: pioneered the boy’s game in Dauphin and Cumberland Counties

Sid Jamieson: pioneered the men’s game at Bucknell University

Richard Lefever: pioneered the boy’s game in Lancaster County

Carol Venet: pioneered officiating and the girls game in Cumberland County

David Webster: pioneered record setting lacrosse at his alma mater, Dickinson College

Central PA Chapter Receives National Recognition

For the second quarter of 2016, US Lacrosse is excited to recognize the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of US Lacrosse. The chapter was outstanding at seamlessly and smoothly transitioning from former President Jeremy Adams to President Rich Hergenroeder. The executive board, under Rich’s lead, serves over 6,300 members. By increasing their outreach in the Central PA community, the Chapter has exceled at promoting the growth of lacrosse through program expansion, education and events.

The Central PA Chapter has continuously worked hard to grow and foster lacrosse programs in the region. This year, the Chapter promoted the growth of lacrosse by awarding over $5,000 in grants to eight different organizations within the region. With the expansion of youth programs increasing to over 80 boys and girls groups in the area, the Chapter brought together representatives from both community and select travel clubs for the first time as part of a major stakeholders meeting to enable the community to grow the sport together.
